Kenya Evangelical Mission was born in 1988 when Hoyt and Lois Osborne left family and friends, jobs and income, and all that they had to follow the Lord's direction to bring Christ to the Kamba people in Kenya by moving there and living where the people live and have a ministry of evangelism and church planting.
They have adopted many Kenyan children as their own, and have given their lives for the people, sharing the Gospel, building churches, a home for orphan children, schools and a Bible College with a fully trained staff of pastors and teachers who are able to continue the work when the Osbornes are traveling. They currently have 27 churches in three regions, as well 3 Bible colleges. They have also established 3 vocational schools for dressmaking/tailoring, mechanics, and computer, and are wanting to set up schools to teach carpentry and driving.
In September of 2016, the Lord called Hoyt home after a long illness. The board, pastors, and sons are standing with Lois to continue the work. Shadrack Kyungu has stepped into the leadership position.
